7th JUNE 2014

Approximately 70 people were treated to a wonderful black tie evening on Saturday 7th June 2014 in the stunning old barn attached to the Plough Inn, Hildenborough. The barn has beautiful exposed beams decorated with thousands of sparkling fairy lights and looked magical with decorated candelabra and tea lights shimmering on every table.

There was a photographer in attendance taking photos of the glamorous couples as they arrived. Following a glass of Pimms in the garden, guests were treated to a wonderful 3 course meal with wine, during which the raffle took place. After the meal the live band started playing and people got up to dance, with the many colours of the ladies' dresses creating a colourful scene. The men looked gorgeous in their black ties too!

The auction was held during the band’s break and was conducted brilliantly by Bradbourne’s Sara Howe. It featured some exciting prizes such as an afternoon’s sailing for two, a Bentley for a day with a driver and a cookery school day at a restaurant.  People started bidding frantically for the items, accompanied by much humour and laughter. As the guests left for home in the early hours of the morning, each lady was given a posy of flowers which was a lovely touch to finish the evening with.

The evening was a huge success and raised approximately £3,500 for Bradbourne RDA funds. A huge ‘thank you’ must go to the organiser and her team, along with the many generous donors of the raffle and auction prizes.
