HEAVY HORSE SHOW
SHOREHAM
4th SEPTEMBER 2011
The annual Heavy Horse Show at Shoreham is traditionally held on the first Sunday
in September - and almost without fail the organisers (the Lions Club of Sevenoaks)
manage to arrange good weather. But the forecast for 4th September 2011 was rather
unpromising and it is a testament to the great reputation of the show that huge crowds
turned out despite the prospect of rain.
There was something for everyone at the show, held in the beautiful Darent Valley near Sevenoaks.

But despite the disappointing weather, the day was a huge success and we are very grateful to the organisers and to everyone who helped set up and look after the Bradbourne stalls.

Bradbourne RDA had its usual selection of stands, including ‘feed the ponies' - where Sid, Jimmy and Bisto competed so enthusiastically to eat the largest number of carrots that their digestive systems had to be given a break every now and then!
By lunchtime, though, the clouds had gathered and the first drops of rain started to fall. The shower turned into a deluge and visitors made a dash for the marquee or the exit as stall holders desperately tried to protect their stalls from the rain.
