28th SEPTEMBER 2016

Wednesday, September 28, was the evening of the RDA National Gala Award ceremony at Drapers Hall, London. Bradbourne had a table of ten, all of us in support of rider Katherine Swan. Katherine rides at Bradbourne on Friday mornings and was recognised as the Most Improved Participant for 2016. She, her parents, her grandparents, and five of us from Friday morning all attended the black tie event.

Claire Balding hosted and announced the awards, interviewing each recipient. The Southeast Region was well represented, with Cobbes Meadow receiving the award for RDA Group Brilliant Idea, Cowan Architects being best Business Partner for sponsoring the Southeast Region, and Katherine the Most Improved Participant from Bradbourne.

Projected on a large screen was a photo of Katherine riding Bill at Hickstead, both looking spectacular. Katherine was cool and composed being interviewed by Claire Balding in front of hundreds of people. Childs Farm sponsored the award and its founder gave Katherine her glass "trophy". Paralympian Natasha Baker was on stage as well to congratulate her and to loan Katherine her Rio gold medal to wear for the rest of the evening.

It was a fantastic night and we are all very proud of Katherine's achievements and thrilled that she has been recognised nationally for them.
